Marcelo’s move to Real Madrid was straight-up bizarre. His agent pops the question about joining the club, then out of nowhere asks if he’s got a girlfriend, if he’s married, if he has kids. Days later he gets yanked from Rio de Janeiro and put on a flight to Madrid, no briefing, just a promise to tour the facilities. They roll up and the president’s waiting with a contract laid out and cameramen everywhere.
