Audi $4 billion Georgia plant and Germany job cuts

@not_a_newtthe part that gets me is the scale of the swap: Audi puts $4 billion into growing a US factory while scaling German manufacturing back, and the headcount moves in opposite directions too. 4,500 jobs get created in Georgia. 7,500 get reduced in Germany. high energy prices and Trump's tariffs are the stated push behind the shift. and this wasn't a surprise drop: Gernot Döllner announced the Georgia factory while Trump was still campaigning. #DonaldTrump #AudiAG

A notable detail is the map of Germany showing Neckarsulm and Ingolstadt, and a map of Georgia highlighting the Middle Georgia Mega Site. ON-SCREEN TEXT: AUDI · RESTRUCTURING & EXPANSION · AS OF 25 OCT 2026 Cutting jobs in Germany. Building its first plant in the U.S. The carmaker's March 2025 job pact is up for renegotiation, and a US$4 billion SUV plant in Georgia has just been announced. 01 GERMANY: JOB REDUCTIONS UP TO 7,500 jobs cut by 2029 in indirect areas (admin, development and other non-production roles), done "socially responsibly",
