@mason_247Ilya Salmanzadeh admits the God is a woman chorus was originally meant for a Beyoncé and Jay-Z joint album while Ariana Grande was locked in with Pharrell. It didn't happen. The team later floated using her for the chorus with a rap feature, but when she heard the track, she shut it down: No, we're writing this for me. Ilya responded with Okay, fine. She then wrote all the verses and the pre [chorus] and all those crazy harmonies that are in there. She did it all that day.
