    CARv3-TEAM-E glioblastoma trial MRI results

@gloriaunhingedWhat showed up on the scans five days after one infusion is the part doctors are still calling jaw-dropping. Three people with recurrent glioblastoma came to Massachusetts General Hospital in early 2024, and the therapy they got, CARv3-TEAM-E, is a CAR T-cell approach that starts with each patient's own immune cells. Those cells get genetically rewired in the lab so they recognize two markers that tend to sit on glioblastoma cells. Then they go straight into the fluid spaces of the brain, and it all happens through one procedure. From there the outcomes split in ways nobody was ready for. One patient's MRI at day five showed the tumor had nearly vanished. Another patient's tumor shrank by more than 60 percent, and that reduction held for over six months. The third patient had clear tumor reduction within days. Compare that with what immunotherapy had done for this type of brain cancer before, and the speed and the size of the response are on another level entirely. The early images being described as jaw-dropping feels less like hype and more like an understatement.

The image displays two brain MRI scans side-by-side, comparing a tumor before and after treatment. The scans are presented in a medical or scientific context. A yellow circle highlights the tumor in both images, showing its significant reduction. The overall mood is informative and hopeful, emphasizing a medical breakthrough. ON-SCREEN TEXT: Before Infusion (day -7) After Infusion (day 5) One dose of a new cancer drug caused a woman's tumor to almost disappear in just 5 days
