@FootynewsThe line that stuck with me from Rodrigo De Paul's interview wasn't about tactics. It was about what Messi told the group once the final whistle blew. His first words to them: no mocking, just celebrate and enjoy the win. De Paul isn't naive about the reaction that follows a trophy. There's always a fresh angle for critics. Maybe the team got a helping hand. Maybe they're disrespectful to opponents. Maybe they simply aren't very good. Or the old reliable: South America lags behind Europe in development. His read is that all of it exists to chip away at what Argentina actually accomplished. He also mentioned that this squad stays silent before matches. And while he called the Euros incredible, he pointed out that the best players are in them. Then there's the Colombia comment about Messi and Di María being past it, no longer the same players because of age. De Paul says they see those things. And the current chatter? It's all about Enzo. Nobody is talking about the Copa América.
