Even so, it could still dream of a 3-day opening around 20M+. If it manages to get that high, it would then challenge Avatar’s $21.2M re-release opening weekend back in 2021 as the biggest Hollywood reissue’s debut in China, and it would also still be one of the biggest debuts for any CBM Post-Covid. The next 2 days will be decisive to see where it could realistically land. As long as we don’t end up with another TaylorSwiftTheErasTour situation (where it was so frontloaded that 80% of its opening grosses came from tickets sold during pre-sales in China), it’s gonna be win.
