@writersroom.boardwalkA bunch of countries really dial back the booze. Afghanistan is a total ban, and so are places like Kuwait, Libya, and Mauritania. In Algeria and Egypt, you can't just drink out in public. Bangladesh, Brunei, and Oman have restrictions, with Bangladesh requiring a license. India and Indonesia have partial bans in specific areas. Pakistan has a split: Muslims can't drink, but non-Muslims have rules to follow. Palestine is also split, with Gaza banning it and the West Bank allowing it. Comoros has limits during Ramadan, and Maldives only allows tourists to get drinks at licensed spots. Then there's a whole list of others like Djibouti, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates, all with some form of ban or restriction.
