Circulating scanner traffic claims a parent intervened at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, taking down an armed individual. Bend Police have not verified that detail. What the department will confirm: an incident took place at the school, the suspect is dead from gunfire, and the shot may have come from a bystander rather than anyone with a badge. Children were among multiple victims, and at least two people were taken to a hospital. The reference video going around is not from today, which seems worth saying plainly given how fast these clips travel.
